Top 5 Business Trends

5. START UPS

New companies are starting up with established principles that come from strong home building backgrounds.  Capstone Communities, headed by Darrin Indart and Mke Branson, former principles with Lennar have begun building 2 new communities in Northern Nevada. Their acquisition of Glen Manor and Camden Place at Virginia Lake Crossing will be open for sales in March 2012.  The central location combined with the convenience and charm of living next to Virginia Lake in old Southwest Reno is a plus.  Add in the extensive new home backgrounds of Branson and Indart and one can expect this is a project that will catch the attention of potential homebuyers.

4. SOCIAL –MEDIA MARKETING

With over 800 million Facebook users online every day for approx 55 minutes, more and more companies are realizing the importance and value of social media marketing.  What draws people to social media (whether for business or pleasure) is the opportunity to have conversations with others and to share the stories that are important to them in real time.  For business owners, social media marketing should have a positive impact on the bottom line – otherwise it’s a waste of time.  Most importantly, business owners will need to employ social media strategies that help meet their business goals and ultimately increase their revenues.

3- ENERGY EFFICIENT CONSTRUCTION

Primarily driven by the International Energy Conservation Code, energy efficient new homes are becoming more predominant.  Additionally in an economy of rising energy prices, buyers are more sensitive to their utility costs and look for energy efficient features in a new home.  Even the mortgage industry offers higher value mortgages for energy efficient houses.   “Energy conserving features are a part of every home we build at La Tierra, “ says John Schroeder, principal at La Tierra by Ryder Homes.  “Improved insulation, high efficiency furnaces and low-E vinyl dual glazed windows are just some of the things that helped us achieve a HERS rating better than a typical new home, and we are working to see if we can improve our score even more.”  With ongoing concern about global warming and emphasis from all levels of government and the consumer regularly improving energy efficiency is here to stay.
